The group has been going since 2021, with the intention of looking for opportunities to brighten up the village with plants. We then try and bring together ideas, volunteers and funding to make a difference to our environment.
- Volunteers – We have an email group of about 20 people and when a work session is required a message is sent out so that those volunteers who can help get the chance to get involved. More help is always welcome.
- Funding – We receive an annual grant from the Parish Council but raise most of our money from our annual plant sale in May and by bidding for grants from various bodies, for example Northern Rail, our County Councillor etc.
- Ideas – If you would like to be added to the email group and/or have ideas for site-tidying around the village please contact caroleannprice@hotmail.co.uk.

Currently – We are working on improving the look of the northside access to the Rail station as well as maintaining sites we have already had a go at, eg Ratcliffe Road, the planters at Church Street/Ratcliffe Road, the planters on the station. We are in the planning stages of improving the area around the Bridge Community Hub on Church Street. A bid for funds by the Nurture Nature project may result in further improvements on the old bridge and around the village centre too.
